Relay for Life:
Hello all! We made it through the holidays unscathed. What a great season! We started November with a gob sale which took in $1,280! That’s a lot of gobs!! Thank you so much to all who ordered. Especially, thank you to all the bakers and assemblers that came out and made all of these sweet treats!
We had our 2nd annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party on Saturday November 29th. We raised $585! This was so much fun!! We had over 20 registered sweaters. After the judging was all said and done Jamie Weiss took first place with Cory Shaffer taking second! We are looking forward to continuing this tradition year after year.
On Saturday, Feb. 14 we will have a dance in the upstairs hall. The entertainment will be Nixon Pit Crew. Tickets are $15 a person, $25 a couple.
Try to stay warm and safe through the next few winter months! Thank you so much for your continued support of our relay team.
God Bless,
Susan Shaffer, Co-capt., Windber Moose RFL team

Youth Awareness:
Our lodge hosted the Pennsylvania Moose Association Youth Awareness Student Congress on November 14 and 15. The purpose of the congress is to have teenagers develop presentations on adverse elements in the community and present them to 4 to 9 year olds. Fifty three students from western PA participated. On Friday evening there was a pizza party with Texas DJ to kick off the event. On Saturday morning, after a delicious and hearty breakfast served by our WOTM chapter, these students and their chaperones listened to five presenters on various topics of social importance. After lunch, the students broke out into groups and made their own presentations. They will now develop their individual programs for their local communities. They will then compete for scholarship money at the state and national levels.
Good luck to our local participants Alyssa Sheehan, Nicole Fuschino, Ian Verostick and Alexis Maurizio.

Tommy Moose :
These unique soft and cuddly Moose, wearing a red sweater with "Tommy " embroidered on front in white, are being donated to children in our area hospitals for Christmas.and are given to calm young children in crisis situations.
The good feeling generated for this Moose charitable endeavor is PRICELESS, when the emotions of a young child are changed from distraught and distressed to calm and happy.

Moose Legion

The Legion is the first of the higher degrees, followed by the fellowship and pilgrim degrees. Our lodge's legion meeting is held on the third Tuesday of each month at 8PM in the upstairs meeting room. January’s meeting on the 20th will be a pizza and wing party. All legionnaires are welcome to attend and your input would be greatly appreciated.
