Relay For Life
Hello! Our relay team has been busy the last 2 months. We took a bus trip to the Penguins game March 14 that was a blast! We had a fun group that had a great time all while raising money for our Relay for Life team! On top of that it helped the WOTM with a high attendance at their breakfast!
April 20th we hosted a Studio PM Paint event. It was a wine and cheese themed party. 50 people attended! There was such a good turnout with so much positive feedback that we’re thinking about hosting one in the fall! Thank you so much for all the painters that came out for a fun night!
Next up is the Bark for Life at Windber Recreation Park May 9th. Our team will be selling porkette bag lunches. Bring your four-legged friend and come support the Bark for Life. There will also be a porkette special at the lodge that day with all proceeds going to the relay for life team.
I would like to take this time to thank our lodge officers. Carol Maluchnik and I go to the monthly joint meetings and requests funds to support our fundraisers as well as support from the social quarters. We have never been turned down and are always given what we’re needed from them. Our team last year raised over $16,000! We couldn’t do this without the lodge’s group of officers supporting us. The Windber Relay is made up of many teams. Some are church groups, families, students and teachers. We are the only club in town that has a relay for life team. It’s something od which every member should be very prWe appreciate the involvement and support the members and officers give us. My wish is that one day through all of our efforts that there will be a cure for cancer!
Thank you so much for your continued support of our relay team.

God Bless,
Susan Shaffer
